Rock en español es la música rock compuesta e interpretada en castellano. A diferencia del rock en inglés, el rock en español ha logrado tener éxito mundial en pocas ocasiones, y muchas veces ni siquiera entre países de habla hispana. Por eso el rock en castellano se ha desarrollado de manera heterogénea en las distintas naciones hispanohablantes; quedando así la música de muchas bandas para uso casi exclusivamente nacional hasta la llegada de la globalización de contenidos multimedia acentuada por la generalización de internet y desarrollada especialmente en el siglo XXI.
The Indelicates es uno de los grupos británicos más interesantes del panorama actual, formado a finales de 2005, poco después de que Julia Clark-Lowes abandonara The Pipettes y se uniera a Simon Clayton bajo los seudónimos de Julia Indelicate y Simon Indelicate. Poco después, Ed van Beinum, Kate Newberry y Al Clayton se unieron al grupo en directo.
Su single de debut, "We Hate the Kids" fue lanzado en 2006, recibiendo críticas positivas. En 2007 publican otros dos singles, "Julia, We Don't Live in the 60's" y "Sixteen", con una mayor distribución en el Reino Unido. Su album de debut, "American Demo" sale al mercado en abril de 2008.
