El rhythm and blues (abreviado por sus siglas R&B) o jumping music es un género musical derivado en su origen del jazz, el gospel y el blues. El término musical fue introducido en Estados Unidos en 1949 por Jerry Wexler de la revista Billboard. Sustituyó al término conocido como "race records" (grabaciones de raza), considerado ofensivo para la posguerra mundial así como para la categoría de Billboard "Harlem Hit Parade" en junio de 1949, y principalmente era usado para identificar el género musical que más tarde se desarrollaría en forma de rock and roll.
A medio camino entre el R&B indie y el soft-rock, las composiciones de la jovencísima cantante londinense Arlo Parks hablan sobre la cotidianidad de una nueva generación rota y triste. Anaïs Oluwatoyin Estelle Marinho (Londres, Reino Unido; 9 de agosto de 2000), conocida profesionalmente como Arlo Parks, es una cantautora y poeta británica. En 2021, publicó su primer álbum de estudio, Collapsed in Sunbeams. El disco fue bien recibido por la crítica y ganó el Premio Mercury concedido al álbum británico más destacado del año.
