La música pop (del inglés pop music, contracción de popular music) es un género de música popular que tuvo su origen a finales de los años 1950 como una derivación del tradicional pop, en combinación con otros géneros musicales que estaban de moda en aquel momento. Los términos música pop y música popular se usan a menudo de manera indistinta, aunque el segundo tiene un sentido más amplio al dar cabida a otros géneros distintos del pop que se consideren populares.
Lenka, hija de un músico de jazz, que había emigrado desde Checoslovaquia a Australia y de una maestra de escuela australiana, nació y se crió en el "bush" hasta la edad de siete años cuando su familia se mudó a Sydney, donde recibió su educación y formación musical, y comenzó a trabajar como músico.
Después de la adopción de su primer nombre como su único nombre artístico, Lenka lanzó su álbum debut homónimo el 24 de septiembre de 2008, con " The Show "(producido por Stuart Brawley ) elegido para ser el primer single del conjunto. El álbum alcanzó su punto máximo en el número 142 en los EE.UU. Billboard 200.
