El termino K-pop surge por el movimiento de la cultura joven y (K) de Korean (Coreano en ingles); en resumen es la abreviatura de Korean Pop o Pop Coreano. Es un género de música que tuvo sus orígenes especialmente en Corea del Sur ya que prácticamente no hay una industria de música popular en Corea del Norte. Ya que Corea del Norte tiene un estricto régimen de gobierno comunista, por lo que las relaciones con Corea del Sur son muy pocas, así que cuando se habla de cantantes coreanos se da como sobrentendido que se habla de Corea del Sur.
Wonder Girls son un grupo femenino de Corea del Sur de la compañía JYP Entertainment, actualmente formado por, Min Sun Ye (선예) (líder), Park Ye Eun (예은), Kim Yoo Bim (김유빈), Ahn So Hee (소희) y Yu Hae Lim (禹惠林) en reemplazo de Sun Mi (선미). Su catalogo musical incluye Pop, R&B y hip-hop. El grupo debutó el 10 de febrero del 2007 en el programa de la MBC, Music Core, con la canción "Irony", un single con influencias hip-hop incluido en su primer mini-album, "The Wonder Begins". Pocos meses después, a fines de Julio, Hyun Ah (현아) se ve obligada a abandonar el grupo debido a una gastroenteritis crónica que la tuvo hospitalizada brevemente durante marzo y abril de ese año, e ingresa Yoo Bin el 5 de septiembre, quedando el quinteto conformado asi desde esa fecha.
El primer álbum del grupo, "The Wonder Years", fue lanzado la siguiente semana, el día 13 de septiembre del 2007, con "Tell Me", una canción estilo disco de los años 80's, que incluía un sample de Two of Hearts de Stacie Q, como primer single. Debido a la adición de último minuto de Yoo Bin, la versión del álbum no incluía su parte, sin embargo, para las presentaciones en vivo la canción fue reversionada agregando el rap de esta.
