La música gospel, música espiritual o música evangélica, surgió en las iglesias afro americanas en el siglo XVIII. Se hizo popular durante la década de 1930 y resultó ser una música diferente a los himnos cristianos tradicionales. La palabra original es GodSpell, que al castellano se traduce literalmente como Historia de Dios. Sin embargo, puede también traducirse adecuadamente como Anunciar esa Historia de Dios.
Jesus Culture, es una banda Cristiana y está de más decirlo ya que en su mismo nombre lo hacen notar. Ellos ayudan al Ministerio de Jóvenes que cuenta con tres conferencias en Redding, California cada año, así como en Atlanta, Las Vegas, Dallas, Cleveland, así como Australia e Inglaterra.
Jesus Culture comenzó en el verano de 1999, cuando un grupo de jóvenes en la Iglesia Bethel en Redding, California, dirigidos por el pastor de jovenes Banning Liebscher, lanzaron la primera conferencia de Jesus Culture. El ministerio ha sido llamado "uno de los movimientos cristianos más importantes en la post-guerra de Estados Unidos". Sus álbumes son una mezcla de canciones originales y adaptaciones.
