El Emo es un estilo de música asociado con una moda que se volvió muy popular estos últimos años. No son una subcultura. La música Emo es un derivado de la Música Punk, oficialmente conocida como Hardcore Punk (también llamada Emocore), surgió a mediados de los ochenta. El Punk es un movimiento que surgió a mediados de los 70, cuya música se caracteriza por lo simple y amateur (durante un concierto de rock, las bandas menos producidas solían tocar, y le daban la oportunidad a cualquiera).
