Selena Quintanilla Pérez (Lake Jackson, Texas, 16 de abril de 1971 – Corpus Christi, Texas, 31 de marzo de 1995), conocida artisticamente como Selena o La Reina del Tex-Mex, fue una cantante México-Estadounidense que se le considera una de las figuras más relevantes de ese género musical.
Inició su carrera musical a los 9 años al lado de sus hermanos Susette y AB Quintanilla, grabó su primer álbum a la edad de 14 años y su fama fue creciendo en los años 90's. Selena fue asesinada a los 23 años por Yolanda Saldívar, la presidenta de su club de fans. Su vida fue llevada al cine en 1997 bajo el nombre de Selena, protagonizada por Jennifer Lopez, quien da vida a la cantante.
