La música alternativa es uno de los estilos musicales más populares a nivel internacional. El rock alternativo fue producido como una alternativa a la música a finales de los 80 y principio de los 90. Siendo en esta última década donde alcanza gran aceptación por parte de los amantes de la música, y esto se debió en gran medida a la colaboración de bandas punk de los años 70 y 80. La baja en popularidad del rock alternativo fue debido a la sobresaturación del mercado causado por los ejecutivos de compañías disqueras quienes solo pensaban en ganar plata.
Maroon 5 es una banda estadounidense de pop rock de Los Ángeles, California. Actualmente está compuesto por el vocalista principal Adam Levine, el tecladista y guitarrista rítmico Jesse Carmichael, el bajista Mickey Madden, el guitarrista principal James Valentine, el baterista Matt Flynn, el tecladista PJ Morton y el multiinstrumentista Sam Farrar.
Los miembros originales Adam Levine, Jesse Carmichael, Mickey Madden y el baterista Ryan Dusick se unieron por primera vez con el nombre Kara's Flowers en 1994, cuando todavía estaban en la escuela secundaria. La banda lanzó un álbum llamado We Like Digging ?, luego firmó con Reprise Records y lanzó el álbum The Fourth World en 1997.
